There is no doubt that our destiny, as human beings is firmly linked to that of the bees. These pollinating insects are indispensable for maintaining the balance in nature, but for several years now bees’ populations have declined precipitously.

The cause is a combination of factors, including pesticides, lack of wild forage, disease, and parasites. Bees are essential for our ecosystem, without their pollination, there would be no useful plants such as herbs, flowers, trees, and their fruits.  Bees pollinate nearly three quarters of the plants that produce 90% of the world’s food, this means that a third of the world’s food production depends on bees and other insects.

Canadian Solar as one of the world's largest solar power companies is committed for making a positive impact on the environment. This time the company adopted a beehive and started a CSR relationship with Beefuture for the upcoming year.

Beefuture objective is to save the bees from extinction. They use disused land for the settlement of the beehives and take care all year of the bees from the official move in up to species-appropriate winter hibernation.

Our Canadian Solar Bees will be located in Munich and at Ammersee just right outside Munich. It is planned to visit them from time to time, to see the progress and to taste the delicious honey.

This new hives of bees will not only increase pollination but also have a positive impact on the environment and the food supply chain.

For us, participating in bee protection is an important component of healthy nature and sustainable management. We appreciate and need bees so that we can continue to enjoy and use nature's treasures in the future.
